Spring Home decoration

Here is an image of my new Spring home decoration. I love to have flowers and plants in house, but for some reason I have have more flowers and plants in house during spring. Which sounds a bit strange while writing it because it makes your home so much nices and alive during winter. So this is also a memo to myself :).

The sounds of Salzburg!

I am back from my travel through Austria and Germany (I only was away for 10 days but this way it sounds like I was away for ages :))!!!!

So I decided to make 4 separate posts so I can give you all an inpression of my vacation in 4 short stories instead of 1 long tedious story. It will be as follows:

- Part Uno: Salzburg
- Part Due: Vienna
- Part Tres: Schonbrunn (which is also in Vienna)
- Part Quatro: Germany

So part uno start here! I strongly recommend to start reading and enjoy the pics!

It all starts in a town situated in Austria along the river Salzach north of the Alps. We arrived there around 4 in the afternoon on a Friday. The drive to Salzburg was pretty awesome, it was about a 8 hour drive, so basically 1 working day :)

We stayed in Haus Arenberg, a small hotel located in a quite area of Salzburg. It was pretty difficult to find, but once we arrived and entered our room it was awesome! The beds were soooo good, we had a balcony and the shower was amazing! In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace in the lovely fresh mountain air and Austrian morning sun (which of course is the same as the Dutch morning sun but it felt much nicer....).

We had 1 full day to discover Salzburg and here is an impression of what we did and saw:

Recognize this fountain?

The view from the fortress called: Festung Hohensalzburg

The start of the Alp Mountains
Mozarts Geburtshaus a.k.a. the house Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born.
Doesn't this look amazing?!
p.s. this is the river Salzach

The gorgeous gardens of Schloss Mirabell
Behind the horse are the famous steps from the Sound of Music song "Do-Re-Mi"

How I love the feeling of the soft grass under my feet!
Since this holiday had a high girly factor (Salzburg = Sound of Music and Vienna = Sissi and Reutlingen = my old University), I thought it would be good to add something my boyfriend would for sure appreciate: the Biergarten of the Augustiner Brauerei (brewery)! Here is an impression how this looks like and how it is to visit a biergarten with me....

I wasn't really drunk it is just a bad picture! Below the actual picture at is was intended:

Pfff this looks much better!
Oh and in case you wonder, the small beer was for me, I asked for the smallest and I got 0,5 liter... which is normal in this region... The "glass" I am holding in this pic is 1 liter!

So as you can see we had a lot of fun the Salzburg! And yes I did loads of swirling! And I can really recommend you to go here and enjoy this beautiful city and do some swirling of your own!

Blog Angel update uno!

Hi there it's me Lieke from Swirling Away Everyday! Today I want to tell a little something about a special undercover project I am working on this month. It is called Blog Angels! Which is totally awesome! In short it means I am to help and guide a certain blogger with growing her blog, reaching more people and getting more attention from other bloggers. I cannot get into any specifics, but my blog Angel is such a darling! Her blog is awesome, very positive, her blog is as bright as sunshine!Having a blog Angel is so much fun! But in the beginning it was a bit difficult, because you have to get to know the blog and the blogger behind the blog. This wasn't as easy  as I had hoped but the past few weeks I am having more interaction with my Angel which is awesome! This really gives me the feeling that I can help her and make a difference!

The main thing I have learned from these past weeks is that you have to be pro-active and consistent. If you do not get the feedback from your Angel you had hoped for, don't give up and just keep on swirling and trying to help your Angel! We all want people to like what we write so just keep on being positive and leave nice comments, or ask a question in your comment so you get some more personal interaction.

My goals for my blog angel is to help her grow her blog and getting more followers. I started with just leaving nice comments on her blog and trying to grow her confidence in her blogging skills. Even though you write you blog for you it can be quite difficult when you don't get any feedback from other blggers. So by just leaving nice honest comments I hope her confidence and her blog will grow.

So there you have it, an idea of what it means to have a Blog Angel. In case you are interested and also want to help bloggers just contact Rosie at CraftBotic!

And the run I did this morning!

We all need some extra sunshine, so start reading The Glitter of Sunshine!

Current crush Thursday #1

Here is my First attempt on Current Crush Thursday inspired by: Danielle. It is basically just a short informative post on the crush I have today, you could also call it my obsession of the week.

Today's CURRENT CRUSH THURSDAY is this Mango dress I bought on sale! I absolutely love it! It is a maxi dress and it is very long. I already have 2 other maxi dresses but they are too short for me... I am pretty tall and for me a maxi dress should at least cover your feet. The other 2 obviously don't and this one does!!!! Woohooo!!!!

Another reason why I am obsessed with this dress is that it is in my closet..... and hasn't come out yet due to the weather! As you can see it is a summer dress, and where I live summer is no where to be found! So I really hope that we will have a few nice days which will allow me to wear this gorgeous dress at least once this summer!! Please let the sun shine!!! Please....??!!!

So here you have it, a nice maxi dress which will help me to swirl even more this summer!

A Dutch Summer ain't really Summer without some rain....

So who want's to know what summer is like here in the land of the Dutch? Nope nobody?  Well I am gonna tell you anyway:

There is one word.... WET!!!!

Of course we also have a lot of nice days, but lately there is a lot of rain... So what to wear when I go to work (by bike)? Well easy my rain suit!!! It kinda makes me look like a bag of potatoes... But it keeps me dry... Except for my shoes :(

A while ago when I had to go to work it was raining... and I was like, okay so I can take the car and be dry.... or be tough and go by bike through the rain. So I did the right thing, I went by bike!!! I mean I am Dutch and that is what we do ;) So it was really raining hard and I was cycling in my rain suit as fast as I could, the faster you cycle the less time you have to spend in the rain, the less you get wet. Is that even true??? Well anyway, so by the time I was at work I was dry because I wore my rain suit, except for my shoes (the same as I am wearing in the above pic). I am not sure if any of you ever experienced wet All Stars but it ain't no joke!

Reason why wet All Stars are no joke:
a) it takes ages to dry
b) the water stays in the shoes
c) they make this soggy sound which is kinda funny

What did I learn from this experience.... well I guess nothing because it felt really good actually cycling through the rain, I mean it is a bolt thing to do right?!

So basically summer hasn't arrived to Holland yet.... Oh well as long it rains when I have to work all day I guess it isn't too bad... And hopefully in September when I have my summer holiday the sum will be shining and 30 degrees!

And remember this when you are on the rain: most of the rain falls besides you not on you :)
