Swirling quotes March

It is already March! Can you believe it? Spring is just around the corner and it is really time to start thinking about what to do for the summer holidays! So was thinking to start the month with another round of "Swirling" qoutes.

I really like this quote.. but it is rather difficult.... It is so easy to collect things because they are tangible. And what  if our memory every fails us, can we still fall back on these moments we collected and stored in our brain? On the other hand what are things if you can't enjoy the moments and live in the "now"?

Just keep this in mind. Only a few word which can really help you to take that small step and help you to "Just do it".

Learn to ride the waves of change.

I am not a big fan of Justin Bieber, actually I am no fan at all... But this quote is very inspiring.
Which quote is your favourite? And again send me your quotes or words of inspiration so I can use them for the next round of "Swirling Quotes".

Last days in my Twenties

So these are my last few days in my twenties..... after this week I am officially old(er). To be honest I am kinda excited for my birthday party! I am celebrating my birthday on Saturday with some friends. I have planned a wine tasting at home. So a wine specialist is coming to my home and then we can taste and drink vinos! Sounds cool right? And I made little goodie bags with some things I am loving at the moment and that I wanted to share with them! And I did manage to give everybody the same but keep it personal.

On Sunday it is my actual birthday, and I will be celebrating this with my family. Hopefully I will get loads of presents :) I found someone who will make a high tea for me and my guests, so lots of nice little snacks and sweets like muffins, sandwiches, brownies etc! And no I will not only be serving tea! Of course will also be wine and beer :)

That way I can drown my sorrow.... Am I sad or depressed that I am turning 30....? Not really. But I am kinda curious to see what will happen will me the coming 10 years. For example, will I get married.... do I all of a sudden want to have kids? At the moment absolutely not... but who knows what will happen. What will happen to my career and when will get a proper house with a garden, preferably with a vegetable plot and dog?! I am not yet sure what kind of dog I would like.... maybe one of the following:

Labradoodle, they come in black, brown and this golden white! Aren't they the cutest dogs ever?!
www.partyflock.nl

Bernese Mountain dog, also a very cute dog! But they are very large and need lots of space.... But a very nice dog to cuddle all day!

Golden Retriever, we had a Golden Retriever when I was young. His name was Bobby and he was our best friend! He lived to be 13 years old, which is pretty old for a dog! I still believe he got that old because he liked to live with us and because all the attention he got from the familiy! I loved this dog!

I love this picture! He looks so handsome!!!

In this phote he was pretty old! I actually believe it was taken a few day before we had to  bring him to the vet to give him his final sleeping injection.... That is probably why he looks so sad :(

Lagotto, I really like these dogs! They are somewhat smaller than a Golden Retriever and they are an Italian breed! They are trained in Italy to find the valuable Truffles.

Which dog do you like best?

Well those are all things I think should happen the coming years... but when and how...?

A while ago I made this list. An overview of things I want to do when I am 30, a.k.a. Swirling 30-in-30 list..... Somethings I am sure I will be doing like: Run the half Marathon , it is scheduled for November 11th! And like take my little cute niece to the petting zoo! Other things are a bit more challenging like eat less candy... and save extra money for my wedding and not buy clothes for 1 whole month! But then again it needs to be challenging! Otherwise what's the fun of it all?!

Do you have a similar list? And what is your most challenging goal on the list?

Hope to see you back when I am actually 30!

The sounds of Salzburg!

I am back from my travel through Austria and Germany (I only was away for 10 days but this way it sounds like I was away for ages :))!!!!

So I decided to make 4 separate posts so I can give you all an inpression of my vacation in 4 short stories instead of 1 long tedious story. It will be as follows:

- Part Uno: Salzburg
- Part Due: Vienna
- Part Tres: Schonbrunn (which is also in Vienna)
- Part Quatro: Germany

So part uno start here! I strongly recommend to start reading and enjoy the pics!

It all starts in a town situated in Austria along the river Salzach north of the Alps. We arrived there around 4 in the afternoon on a Friday. The drive to Salzburg was pretty awesome, it was about a 8 hour drive, so basically 1 working day :)

We stayed in Haus Arenberg, a small hotel located in a quite area of Salzburg. It was pretty difficult to find, but once we arrived and entered our room it was awesome! The beds were soooo good, we had a balcony and the shower was amazing! In the morning we had breakfast on the terrace in the lovely fresh mountain air and Austrian morning sun (which of course is the same as the Dutch morning sun but it felt much nicer....).

We had 1 full day to discover Salzburg and here is an impression of what we did and saw:

Recognize this fountain?

The view from the fortress called: Festung Hohensalzburg

The start of the Alp Mountains
Mozarts Geburtshaus a.k.a. the house Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born.
Doesn't this look amazing?!
p.s. this is the river Salzach

The gorgeous gardens of Schloss Mirabell
Behind the horse are the famous steps from the Sound of Music song "Do-Re-Mi"

How I love the feeling of the soft grass under my feet!
Since this holiday had a high girly factor (Salzburg = Sound of Music and Vienna = Sissi and Reutlingen = my old University), I thought it would be good to add something my boyfriend would for sure appreciate: the Biergarten of the Augustiner Brauerei (brewery)! Here is an impression how this looks like and how it is to visit a biergarten with me....

I wasn't really drunk it is just a bad picture! Below the actual picture at is was intended:

Pfff this looks much better!
Oh and in case you wonder, the small beer was for me, I asked for the smallest and I got 0,5 liter... which is normal in this region... The "glass" I am holding in this pic is 1 liter!

So as you can see we had a lot of fun the Salzburg! And yes I did loads of swirling! And I can really recommend you to go here and enjoy this beautiful city and do some swirling of your own!

Blog Angel update uno!

Hi there it's me Lieke from Swirling Away Everyday! Today I want to tell a little something about a special undercover project I am working on this month. It is called Blog Angels! Which is totally awesome! In short it means I am to help and guide a certain blogger with growing her blog, reaching more people and getting more attention from other bloggers. I cannot get into any specifics, but my blog Angel is such a darling! Her blog is awesome, very positive, her blog is as bright as sunshine!Having a blog Angel is so much fun! But in the beginning it was a bit difficult, because you have to get to know the blog and the blogger behind the blog. This wasn't as easy  as I had hoped but the past few weeks I am having more interaction with my Angel which is awesome! This really gives me the feeling that I can help her and make a difference!

The main thing I have learned from these past weeks is that you have to be pro-active and consistent. If you do not get the feedback from your Angel you had hoped for, don't give up and just keep on swirling and trying to help your Angel! We all want people to like what we write so just keep on being positive and leave nice comments, or ask a question in your comment so you get some more personal interaction.

My goals for my blog angel is to help her grow her blog and getting more followers. I started with just leaving nice comments on her blog and trying to grow her confidence in her blogging skills. Even though you write you blog for you it can be quite difficult when you don't get any feedback from other blggers. So by just leaving nice honest comments I hope her confidence and her blog will grow.

So there you have it, an idea of what it means to have a Blog Angel. In case you are interested and also want to help bloggers just contact Rosie at CraftBotic!

The Glitter of Sunshine

Sunshine, don't we all love it? Well I do!!! It makes me feel happy, give me energy, I can wear airy and lovely summer clothes!

Here are some of my favorite sunshine moments:
And I am gonna add another new favorite Sunshine moment! It is called The Glitter of Sunshine, it is this very cute blog that is always positive! I also love the 30 days of happiness project, it is so awesome! We should all do this and just think of 1/2 things that made us happy per day. For me today that would be the sun! And the run I did this morning!

We all need some extra sunshine, so start reading The Glitter of Sunshine!

Swirling with Nike

Current Crush Thursdays

So it is Thursday and I have a current crush! Check these Nike shoes I just bought!!! I hear you asking me: Did you buy them for running? Nope.... Can you wear them to work? Hmmm not really.... Will you wear them a lot? Uhmmm probably not really.... Why did you buy them?... well because they are freak in awesome and I love Nike! Oh and because I only have All Stars and this is something different.... Did that work? Can I keep them? Before you answer please first have a look at the shoes:

Oh before I forget, did I mention I bought them on sale?! .... Ok I am out of excuses... I hope I convinced you (and myself) that this was a good deal...

P.s. Almost weekend! So just 1 more day before the Swirling weekend starts!
